Fresh September snow—termination dust—on the peaks of Kachemak Bay State Park frames the small boat harbor in Homer, Alaska. Located on one of the longest natural gravel spits in the world, the harbor supports a productive fishing fleet. Halibut, salmon, and crab are the primary catches.
