About the Cover

A contorted black spruce stands near the Glenn Highway at Eureka Summit about 130 miles north of Anchorage. Eureka Summit, the highest point on the Glenn Highway at 3,322 feet above sea level, is often windy and the ground in the summer is boggy. In the background, cloaked in clouds, is Gunsight Mountain.
